Planes at an airport

Rolls-Royce plc.

The Rolls-Royce rebrand in 2018 introduced a clean, flat, and modernised design, a style I've always been inspired by and qualities that best describe my own design style.

The opportunity to design for the Rolls-Royce brand has been a highlight of my career and inadvertently introduced me to the fascinating industry of aviation. What's most inspiring about the industry today is the new era of hard work and effort that is pushing new technology for a more sustainable world in future transport.

Helping with social media channels gave me the opportunity to show how the brand could be stretched in new and creative ways through the clever use of image carousels and playful motion graphics.

This motion graphic celebrated a product achievement to highlight its reliability. The Trent XWB's 3 million flying hours was a maturity milestone to shout about.

Here, I created a 2D animation showing
how the Rolls-Royce powered Gulfstream 650 made its circumnavigation record attempt. I also directed the style of the animation which creatively shows the various locations the aircraft flew to achieve its record.
Rolls-Royce and the airframer were proud to illustrate the durability of the plane with this achievement.

I worked in partnership with the private jet airframer, Gulfstream, and their marketing team for regular updates about the mission.

Experience the editorial design for the World's fastest all-electric aircraft, The Spirit of Innovation! Going on to smash two new World records.
This double page spread was exclusively designed for Cranfield University's 'Aeronaut' magazine and was an absolute treat to construct.
My vision was to transport readers into the aircraft workshop through the use of high quality images, but balanced with distinctive Rolls-Royce brand elements.

Rebranding an aircraft livery is still a wacky high point for me! Working with the in-house team and a third-party we achieved a fresh new look for Rolls-Royce's Boeing 747, Flying Testbed.

Did you know? The darker the colour of livery the heavier the paint weighs.

Livery colour was considered during this project as this is what aircraft engine manufacturers like Rolls-Royce compete on. Fuel efficiency sells engines.

Department of Transport advert

With big brands come big collaborations!

Late in 2022, a third-party agency reached out for imagery to be featured in the Government's Department of Transport advert, which would be displayed at airports during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Through-out our regular correspondence, I had the opportunity to provide bespoke imagery by directing the photography, thereby influencing the final outcome of the advert.
